The International Paragliding Festival 2024 is scheduled to be held on March 14, 15, 16, 17 at Vagamon in Idukki district. The event is jointly organized by Kerala Adventure Tourism Promotion Society (KATPS) under the Department of Tourism and Idukki District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) with technical support from Paragliding Association of India (PAI).

More than 100 international and national-renowned gliders are expected to participate in the festival and more than 15 countries have expressed interest to participate in this edition. Also world renowned riders and international champions are expected to participate in the event. It is India's largest aero sports adventure festival which lasts for 4 days. Participation from all over the world (France, Germany, Italy, New Zealand, Australia, US, UK, Nepal etc) and all over India (Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Goa, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh) in this festival.

Registration

Rs. 2000/- for registration for competitors and non-competitors covers

  • Stay and food from 14th March evening to 18th March morning (first 50 registrations)
  • Daily pickup and drop to the flying site from hotel

Requirements


For Participants

Minimum P3 rating or equivalent from established schools or paragliding bodies, well versed in

  • independent takeoffs and landings
  • self assessment of flying conditions
  • right of way rules
  • thermalling
  • ridge soaring
  • ability to land in small landing areas
  • fast descent techniques
Valid accidental insurance that covers paragliding for the duration of the festival is mandatory
